Following the resounding success of the youth “unconference” SHINE NOW last year, Gushcloud Entertainment is bringing its second instalment come end November.
The unorthodox “unconference” naming signalled the deliberate effort to steer away from traditional conferences, which gives off a daunting impression for youths.
A survey conducted with them found that one in two were unable to confidently pursue their passions in Singapore. SHINE NOW was subsequently launched as a pilot project in 2019 to provide a safe space for them to learn and grow.
This year, the event will focus on preparing youths to face the post COVID-19 world, through casual dialogue sessions held on the virtual realm.
The 2-day event is headlined by talents such as rapper Tablo from the Epik High trio and Internet sensation Nigel Ng, better known as his alter ego “Uncle Roger”.
Tablo expressed his excitement to talk to the next generation of world leaders, and “I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to share my story and insights with Singapore’s youth at SHINE NOW 2020,” he said.
The event also features a slew of local industry leaders, who will offer insights and inspirations for youths to chart their own path.
Expect to see other local personalities such as Dew Francis, Munah Bagharib, Jade Rasif and Fauzi Aziz (TheSmartLocal), among others at the event.
SHINE NOW 2020 will be held from 28-29 Nov. Tickets cost $15 for the 2-Day Virtual Access Pass. Visit their website here for more information.
