We’ve got to admit, reality survival programs are a dime a dozen today. Yet, chances are you’ve watched the “YG Treasure Box”.
Because entertainment company YG Entertainment had announced in end 2018, when filming commenced. The newest boy group of the company will be born through the program.
That is, TREASURE.
Originally a 13-member group, TREASURE now has 12 members. With a mix of both Japanese and Koreans, they are Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshinori, Junkyu, Mashiho, Jaehyuk , Asahi, Yedam, Haruto, Doyoung, Jeongwoo and Junghwan.
Ex-member Ha Yoonbin left the group recently because the “aim of his musical direction seems closer to that of a solo artist rather than team activities,” he says.
But the boys didn’t have the chance to shine because of the recent scandals from their label. Fortunately, things are looking up this year, for the company and the boys alike.
Members capture their daily interactions on film. They released the first episode of their casual vlog series titled “T.M.I” on 14 Jan (Tue).
Unlike their charismatic selves onstage, their dorky and adorable facades are on full display offstage.
Another teaser for the “TREASURE MAP” programme was on the band’s official YouTube channel.
Perhaps the boys are also learning how to be professional YouTubers. They walk through the behind-the-scenes technicals, like camera lighting and best angles.
Anyhow, the boys are likely to get their own reality television. And a fresh start is in store for them.
