FORT WORTH, TEXAS — Dubbed “Avengers of K-pop”, SuperM kicked off their highly anticipated North American tour on Monday night (11 Nov) at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
SuperM is said to be a supergroup that was formed in 2019 by SM Entertainment and Capitol Music Group.
The seven-piece boy group is the first K-pop group to perform at the arena.
The arena was piled with fans with banners for different members, not a common sight for Korean acts. Light sticks that represented SuperM, EXO, SHINee, NCT, and WayV were also seen.
This is a true testament to the fact that different fandoms can come together and support their faves.
Screams of fans were heard. Red and white lights filled the arena as SuperM rose up a platform onto the stage.
The lads took to the stage with I Can’t Stand the Rain (2019). Their sweet vocals and knifelike dancing set the standard high for the rest of the night. The show flowed into membered solos and unit stages, after an unexpected dance performance.
Fans roared as they heard each members take their solos to the stage, the main anticipation of the show.
The solo stages showed a variety of music genres that reflected each of the members unique styles. Some solos were unreleased such as Lucas’ which had a very playful beat and catchy chorus. Not only did the songs show their differences but the whole production played a role in it.
From the light design to the dance routines the songs had, it tied the performance altogether. The septet also performed an unreleased song titled Dangerous Woman that had the entire arena singing and dancing along. Throughout the show, members heavily interacted with fans making sure everyone felt included.
The lads closed the show with the title track of their debut album, Jopping (2019). The crowd as a whole sang along with members as they waved their light sticks to the beat. The boys’ fun and energetic personalities throughout their 90 minute set made for anyone attending to have the best experience.
SuperM is definitely the new boy group to keep your eye on. Make sure to catch them at later dates if you can make it, we’re sure you won’t regret it.
