Today’s the big day for X1, the boy band fresh from the oven formed by CJ E&M reality competition show Produce X 101, as they will be making their debut. X1 consists of 11 youthful lads: Kim Yo-han, Kim Woo-seok, Han Seung-woo, Song Hyeong-jun, Cho Seung-youn, Son Dong-pyo, Lee Han-gyul, Nam Do-hyon, Cha Jun-ho, Kang Min-hee, and Lee Eun-sang.
X1 held their Premiere Show-con at Gocheok Sky Dome just a while ago. The show was, no doubt, full-house as 18,000 seats were all filled. That evening at 6PM (KST), their first mini album “Emergency : QUANTUM LEAP” went on sale as well.
The boy band made their very first appearance as X1 with glamorous stage set-ups, flashy lights and blinding pyrotechnics.
The first track performed live was Move (2019), produced by South Korean rapper Zico before emcee Jo Woo-jong took centre stage to announce that the official fandom name for the band is set as “One It”. “One It” actually means that the fans are all important as “one” to X1, says member Nam Do-hyon.
Cho Seung-youn also greeted fans in fluent English.
X1 also took time to introduce their album. “The members’ charms are all encompassed in the photobook, and we want to show fans our various looks and charisma, that was how we prepared the book ”, says Son Dong-pyo.
A video was also played, as members revealed what their fans, now collectively known as “One It”, means to them.
This was followed by their first live rendition of Like Always (2019) and Pretty Girl (2019), the lads also changed into causal and colorful outfits as they showed off their boyish charms. They ended the set with their own version of U Got It (2019). Boyness (2019), composed by Hui of Pentagon was also on the list for the night.
Ending the night on a high note was X1’s first reveal of Flash (2019), their debut track.
This journey to stardom for the lads is definitely not a walk in the park, but their continuous hard work and inviolable determination allows us to remain hopeful of what they will bring to fans in future.
