SINGAPORE – Seungri, the youngest member of BIGBANG, brings his charming personality and infectious beats throughout his short but memorable 45 minutes DJ set.
Liquid Nights at Zouk Singapore was part of the yearly Music Matters event, in partnership with All That Matters. With Zouk Singapore being its second edition, Liquid Nights is an event that tours all over the world to showcase the best EDM music.
Fans were queueing up as early as 10:30PM, eager to get in first to secure a good spot on the dancefloor to have a clear view of the DJs spinning their decks for the night.
At around 2AM, shortly after Alan Walker’s set ended, out came Seungri ready to keep the night going. Many fans, also known as VIPs, proceeded to bring out their BIGBANG lightsticks as Seungri got on deck.
The led screen had Seungri’s name projected on it as he opened his set with a remixed version of “Fantastic Baby”, the song that everyone on the floor probably is familiar with. Among the nonstop high BPM remixed 90s tracks played such as Haddaway’s “What is Love“, familiar BIGBANG tunes such as “BAE BAE” and “We Like 2 Party” were remixed and played by Seungri where he would occasionally point his microphone to the crowd to let them sing parts of the songs. He surely didn’t forget to promote songs of his fellow YG labelmates as he included remixed versions of iKON’s “LOVE SCENARIO” and BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU“.
At the end of his set, Seungri thanked the crowd, asking everyone to bring up their drinks so that they could toast to the end of the successful set together. A shot was poured for Seungri too. We thought the set would end without any of his new songs featured but, he proved us otherwise. He proceeded to announce to the crowd that he’ll be singing one of his songs from his new album, titled “WHERE R U FROM“.
The crowd began chanting his name after the end of his song. He didn’t disappoint us as he announced that he’d hope to come back for his solo concert or with the full BIGBANG lineup!
Overall, Seungri’s set and the whole Liquids Night event was a success. Part of the all-star lineup of DJs, that consists of CORSAK and Alan Walker, Liquid Nights at Zouk Singapore had Seungri ending off the night with the whole club singing and dancing along to Seungri’s rendition of BIGBANG’s eardrum-tingling, pulsating beat song, ‘BANG BANG BANG’.
